World Premiere of the L-39 Skyfox at Dubai Airshow 2025:

A New Multi-Role Variant and Bold Design

Vodochody / Dubai, November 17, 2025  The L-39 Skyfox will be showcased at this year’s Dubai Airshow in its latest armed configuration. For the Skyfox, this will be its first-ever appearance in Dubai – and simultaneously the global unveiling of a completely new, striking camouflage that captures attention at first sight.

Aero Vodochody is bringing several innovations to this year’s Dubai Airshow. The most significant is the world premiere of the L-39 Skyfox directly at the Dubai airport. “There is no better place to show this great aircraft and introduce our latest advancements to customers than the world’s largest aviation exhibition,” says Viktor Sotona, President and Chairman of the Board of AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE. “Throughout the week, we will be able to present the Skyfox to customers from all over the world – the entire aviation industry is focused on this event,” Sotona adds.

In Dubai, the Skyfox will appear in an armed configuration that enables the integration of Western weaponry fully compliant with NATO standards. This makes the L-39 Skyfox an even more flexible solution for modern air forces, allowing them to take advantage not only of its training capabilities but also its tactical and combat features. On static display, the aircraft will be equipped with a weapons system including two 12.7 mm gun pods, two LAU-32 rocket launchers, and a mock reconnaissance pod.

A major highlight is the completely new camouflage, which represents a key element of the Skyfox brand’s visual identity. The design is based on the aircraft’s characteristic triangular motif and features a dynamic combination of colors reflecting the aircraft’s performance, energy, and confidence. Each side of the aircraft features a different camouflage variant, ensuring a unique appearance from every angle. The visual concept was created by renowned Czech artist Michal Cimala, whose work blends art, technology, and the aesthetics of modern aviation.

From the very beginning, the Skyfox has symbolized a balance between tradition and innovation. Now we are entering a new era — one in which we are not afraid to stand out, to show courage, and to give design and technology equal importance. With its bold new camouflage, the Skyfox proves that an aircraft can have a personality that inspires and captures attention — both in the air and on the ground,” says Viktor Sotona.

The new camouflage was created specifically for the Dubai Airshow. “Designing the Skyfox camouflage was truly a dream come true. It connects my childhood admiration for aircraft, my passion for music, and my love of abstract art,” says designer Michal Cimala. “The foundation is a structure of triangles — the iconic Skyfox motif, which I transformed into a dynamic new form. Each side of the aircraft looks different, the colors react to light, and they change with movement. The result is a design full of energy, rhythm, and boldness,” Cimala explains.

With its bold design, modern capabilities, and a clear vision for global markets, the L-39 Skyfox enters a new chapter at Dubai Airshow 2025.

The L-39 Skyfox is a modern multipurpose aircraft capable of covering a wide range of missions, from pilot training to tactical and reconnaissance operations. It represents the most efficient aircraft in its class, available in both Western and Eastern configurations and certified under EU and NATO regulations. This versatile technological platform integrates modern simulation technologies and ground training systems. The Czech-made L-39 Skyfox offers an innovative combination of modern avionics, a powerful jet engine, and excellent flight characteristics, making it a suitable choice for all phases of 4th and 5th generation fighter pilot training, as well as reconnaissance and tactical missions such as cooperation with various ground forces.
