Aero has a complex capability of maintenance of L-39NG, L-39, L-59 and L-159 aircraft up to the general overhaul (D level), including servicing at customer´s site. Aero is also able to repair the aircraft in case of damage or exchange the aggregates and parts for better performance. We are also well equipped for the scheduled maintenance performance and total evaluation of technical conditions of the aircraft with following upgrade of the aircraft according to customer’s requirements.
Aero has already cooperated with Algeria, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Iraq, Nigeria, Slovakia, Tunisia, Uzbekistan on the GO & SLEP for L-39Cs, L-39ZAs, L-59Ts or L-159s. There are still some countries that are in negotiation right now with Aero Vodochody to prolong their aircraft's lifetime.

The service life of L-39 aircraft is limited by accumulated fatigue, mainly determined by the value and frequency of vertical loads during operation. If operated on the proposed design spectra, the actual service life of the aircraft in terms of flight hours exactly matches log book entries and can reach up to 3,000 – 4,500 flight hours or 40 years of service (depending on version).Actual service life may differ from entries in log books (both up and down), if flown below or above proposed design spectra. It is based on the Fatigue Acquisition Unit (FAU-39), which records g-loads and calculates remaining service life, which guarantees flight safety.
The general overhaul is literally giving new life to L-39 & L-59 aircraft. AERO uses the latest and unique know-how, documentation and overhaul methods to ensure a safe and reliable future operation. Since overhauled aircraft meet the same requirements as brand new aircraft coming of the line, AERO provides full warranty.
The general overhaul process consists of the following:
Fuselage is completely stripped down of all parts and components
All aggregates are sent for overhaul to OEMs
Consumable parts are replaced by new ones
Fuselage fatigue critical parts are subject to NDT
Damages of airframe parts are repaired
Execution of obligatory sustainment upgrades and bulletins
Fuselage is painted internally and externally
Aircraft is assembled and tested
Final flight test confirming aircraft full functionality
