A unique opportunity for promising young students. The largest Czech aerospace manufacturer cooperates with the Faculty of Transportation Sciences at CTU

Vodochody, 11 January 2023 - Aero Vodochody is intensifying its cooperation with the Department of Air Transport at the Czech Technical University of Transportation Sciences. Students will investigate the safety and reliability of the systems of the latest L-39NG aircraft as part of their professional practice. The main objective of the cooperation is to share knowledge and experience in aviation safety between the two top organizations.
The manufacturer of the legendary L-29 Dolphin, the L-39 Albatros, and the latest L-39NG has unique data on the reliability of the machines flying around the world in more than 50 years of development and production. Now it will pass on the knowledge to up-and-coming aerospace experts. In preparation for their undergraduate theses, students will also complete internships at Aero. Aero experts also plan lectures at the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of the Czech Technical University.
The students of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of CTU have been assigned bachelor thesis topics that deal with the safety and reliability of the systems of the new L-39NG aircraft and build on previous project cooperation. The preparation of the bachelor thesis includes internships directly at the Aero development center. Students will thus participate in cutting-edge projects in the field of aircraft design and gain additional knowledge and skills that they will apply both in academia and in their future profession. Thanks to the cooperation, Aero will use new methods used by CTU to assess the reliability and safety of aircraft technology.
One of the important goals is to establish and deepen cooperation with young promising scientists or developers, to strengthen their interest in the field of aviation, and to attract future colleagues who will continue their professional careers at Aero. "The new development projects require us to add dozens of qualified designers who will not only get stable jobs at Aero but above all the opportunity to participate in groundbreaking programs in which they will create new aircraft legends such as the Dolphin and the Albatross. Students can already get to know them on excursions or internships that we regularly organize," says Luboš Tejkl, Chief People Officer, Aero Vodochody. "Cooperation with Aero in the field of aviation safety will enrich students and bring them experience for their further education and future professional career. A great benefit is an opportunity to share and use data that are collected and analyzed during the actual development and operation of aircraft," says Andrej Lališ from the Department of Air Transport, Faculty of Transportation Sciences, CTU.
