Prague, June 23, 2022 - The new majority shareholder of AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s. (Aero) is SI 13 Aero Zrt., a company registered in Hungary. The minority share continues to be owned by the Czech company OMNIPOL a.s.
The majority shareholder of SI 13 Aero Zrt. is Mr. Zsolt Hernádi, who acquired the share in Aero from the Hungarian businessman Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.
The entry of a regionally renowned investor into Aero will further strengthen the position of the company and enable future growth. Aero will continue to develop all three pillars of its business, i.e. production and development of its own military aircraft, the maintenance-repair-overhaul business, and its aerostructures programs for both domestic and international customers. All these three pillars will remain an integral part of the business strategy of the company.
The investment in Aero by Mr. Hernádi is based on his long-term business experience in the Central European region: he has been Chairman and CEO of MOL, the largest energy company in the CEE region, and also present in the Czech Republic, for over 2 decades. Aero represents a strategic asset with a clearly growing business. Thanks to the newly certified L-39NG and with running serial production of the aircraft, the company has a very good position on the market of training jets.
