Aero supports top volleyball in Odolena Voda
Vodochody, October 7th, 2022 – Aero Vodochody has been the general partner of the Odolena Voda volleyball club for six decades. It is one of the most stable partnerships in Czech volleyball.
Viktor Sotona, President of Aero Vodochody, visited one of the first home games of this season and emphasized the importance of supporting volleyball in the region. "The volleyball team named after our company is a passion for the fans from the surrounding towns, as well as our employees and their families. This is one of the reasons why we have extended our cooperation. We will continue to support the team because it gives our region a great name not only at home but also in Europe," he said.
Pavel Horák, president of the AERO Odolena Voda volleyball team, said: "We are glad for the significant support of our sponsors, including Aero Vodochody, because it helps us to develop the A-team and also our youth teams. We are working hard to ensure that volleyball is played at a European level in our town and that it is a nice volleyball spectacle for the spectators."
The cooperation with the AERO Odolena Voda volleyball club has been spread to the premises of the Czech aircraft manufacturer. At the beginning of the summer, a sports day was held on the company's site, where teams of employees played against professional volleyball players. Due to the popularity of the event, there are plans to hold it again next year.
The AERO Odolena Voda team is a seven-time national champion, with the club winning its last title in 1996. It is one of the most successful teams in our country. A number of former and current national team members are members of the club. In the 2021/22 season, AERO finished fourth in the UNIQA Extraliga. We wish the team a lot of success and the best possible position in the current season of the volleyball league.
