„The strategic aim of Aero is to become preferred partner in prestigious projects of leading aerospace manufacturers, participate on risk-sharing projects and offer flexible services and advanced products in the global aerospace and defence industry. We are going to develop the existing potential of Aero organically, meaning by innovations and investment into advanced technologies, as well as through international acquisitions,” says Ladislav Simek, Vice President for Strategy and Strategic Programs of Aero, who will mainly be responsible for definition and implementation of the corporate strategy, strategic marketing, fusions and acquisition and business intelligence.

Ladislav Simek (1973) graduated at Economic University in Prague and EMBA at Thunderbird University (Arizona, USA). Before he came to Technometra Radotin, he worked in DRINKS UNION as General Manager, in Nemak Europe as Administration Manager, Office Depot as Financial Manager, in PAPIRIUS as Financial Manager and Manager of Strategic Purchasing, and Kbelovna Decin as Financial Manager.

The new position of Vice President for Strategy and Strategic Programs is a part of an updated organizational structure of the management of Aero Vodochody, since the New Year comprising President Igor Hulak and other eight Vice Presidents responsible for individual departments (more on www.aero.cz/en/management.html).

In 2007, Aero Vodochody went through restructuring and after years of losses has been showing profit again (USD 10 million in 2007). Audited economic results for 2008 will be released in the first half of the year.

AERO Vodochody a.s. is the largest aerospace manufacturer in the Czech Republic, mainly focusing on cooperation with leading aerospace manufacturers in international aerostructures projects – Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (S-76C helicopter), Alenia Aeronautica (C-27J Spartan center wing box), Latecoere (Embraer 170/190 subassemblies), Saab (JAS-39 Gripen pylons), Spirit Aerosystems (B767 fixed leading edge kits), EADS (A320/340 subassemblies), etc. The Military Program of Aero is a long-term partner to the Czech Air Force. This year, Aero celebrates 90 years since its foundation and thus ranks among the oldest aerospace manufacturers in the world.
