C-27J program: revenue of up to CZK 6 billion for Aero

14/09/2007 | AERO could generate up to CZK 6 billion in revenue over the next ten years through the production of the center wing box for the C-27J Spartan advanced tactical transport aircraft.

"AERO could generate up to CZK 6 billion in revenue over the next ten years through the production of the center wing box for the C-27J Spartan advanced tactical transport aircraft," said Paolo Pozzessere, Senior Vice President International Sales Alenia Aeronautica on the occasion of the C-27J Spartan demo flights for the AERO employees at the Vodochody Airport.

"The contract for the delivery of the C-27J center wing box includes production for customers outside of the US market. We are very interested in a possible contract extension, which would represent a significant increase in the revenue, in some peak periods even by 200%, and also a positive contribution to the Czech foreign trade balance," said Peter Ondro, President of AERO.

"For AERO, the production of the center wing box might be equally significant as a source of revenue and profit as the so far dominant production of helicopters for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation," added Monika Vajnerová, AERO Vice-president for Aerostructures.

The first center wing box produced by AERO will be delivered in October 2007 to the customer, Alenia Aeronautica. The contract for delivery of the C-27 center wing box was signed on September 2, 2006 on the occasion of last year’s CIAF and in the same month, AERO obtained the first orders.
