Breitling Jet Team chief pilot flew L-39NG (VIDEO)
The founder and chief pilot of the Breitling Jet Team, Jacques Bothelin, visited AERO Vodochody to try a new L-39NG jet aircaft. His partner in the cockpit was company test pilot Vladimír Továrek.
Jacques Bothelin has flown more than 2,000 flight hours with the original L-39 Albatross. "I did the beginning of our display just to feel the difference and there was no problem. I don’t think I would need many hours to go solo on this aircraft. In terms of flying and handling characteristics it is a better aircraft," said Jacques Bothelin immediately after the flight.
The Breitling Jet Team has been operated by Apache Aviation since 2003. The company is now looking for a new main sponsor for its acrobatic team of 7 L-39 Albatrosses, however the luxury watch maker Breitling is open to stay with the team as co-sponsor.
