Ground and Flight Testing

MRO & Defence capabilities include the ground and flight testing of general aviation and military aircraft. We have Approval Certificate No.: L-3-056 in accordance with CAA-TI-012-1/99 Procedures for Compliance and Verification Testing of Aircraft Structures and Aircraft Systems. This approval is used for aircraft testing in accordance with FAR Part 23.

The test department collaborated onto military programs L-29, L-39, L-39MS, L-59, L-139, L-159 military programs, L-159 flight simulators, civil programs like Ae270, Cessna CJ2, Wolfsberg Corvus 1F. We currently work on the L-159 T1 CzAF, Ae270 – CESAR program, and Evektor EV-55 aircraft.

The Testing department is divided into four main groups:

Groups:

  • Workshop
  • Test Instrumentation
  • Data processing
  • Tests performing and evaluation

Workshop:

The workshop technicians maintain the airplane prototypes and ensure the day-to-day operation.

  • Technicians/Mechanics
  • Avionics/Electricians
  • Escape System and Weapons

Test Instrumentation:

Measurement equipment design and installation in according to test submitter and test engineer's requirements (simultaneous measurement of more than 500 parameters).
Sensors calibration.
Data recording.

Data Preparation:

  • Test equipment preparation and programming
  • Measured parameters database administration and documentation
  • Data transfer from storage medium and archive
  • Transfer of measured data to physical quantities
  • Software development

Tests Performing and Evaluation:

Engineers of each individual group are responsible for test measurement and control, flight test orders, cooperation with test pilots, data analyses and test reports. Powerful computer equipment and proprietary software are used for data analyses. Engineers utilize the commercial software as well, e.g. UNIGRAPHICS for airframeand design and structural integrity analysis, I-DEAS for vibration and dynamic response analysis, FLUENT for detail flow field analysis, or MATLAB for flight mechanics problem analysis.
Specializations:

  • Strength
  • Flight performance and handling
  • Power plant
  • Avionics and electrical systems
  • Hydraulics
  • Vibrations and aero-elasticity
  • Armament
  • Other aircraft systems
